Chord Guesser is an interactive training game designed to improve your chord recognition skills. The game displays a 3 or 4-note chord voicing directly on the fretboard, and your task is to identify and select the correct chord name from the options provided.
You can use the chord selection dropdown menu to customize the active chord pool. Add or remove specific chord types (such as triads, major 7ths, minor 7ths, or dominant chords) to focus your practice session on the exact shapes you want to master.
Toggle the speaker icon to hear the displayed chord played out loud—either arpeggiated or strummed. This helps build ear training alongside your visual fretboard shape recognition.
You can toggle individual frets on or off by clicking the fret numbers directly below the fretboard. This allows you to isolate specific areas of the neck, like open position chords or higher barre chord regions.
Open the cogwheel (settings menu) and use the string selection toggles to turn individual strings on or off. This is great for practicing chord shapes limited to middle or top string sets.
The cogwheel settings menu lets you customize your entire instrument layout. You can adjust tunings, change the total number of frets and strings, enable left-handed mode, switch to vertical display mode, and configure a banjo drone string.
