Scale Guesser is an interactive training game designed to help you master guitar and string instrument scales across the fretboard. The game displays a scale pattern, and your goal is to correctly identify and select which scale is being shown.
You can customize your active scale pool to fit your skill level. By default, the game selects from 4 common scales to guess from, but you can easily add or remove specific scales from the pool to make the practice session easier or more challenging.
You can turn on the speaker setting to play the scale's notes out loud. Listening to the audio gives your ear training a boost, helping you connect how a scale looks on the fretboard with how it actually sounds.
Fret customization is super quick and interactive: you can easily toggle individual frets on or off by clicking the fret numbers displayed directly below the fretboard.
To enable or disable specific strings, open the cogwheel (settings menu). From there, you can select which strings to turn on or off to focus on precise string combinations.
The cogwheel settings menu gives you deep control over your practice environment. You can adjust your instrument's tuning, change the total number of frets and strings, switch to left-handed mode, toggle vertical display mode, and even configure a drone string (great for banjo players!).
Once the scale pattern lights up on the fretboard, review the root notes and intervals, then click your choice from the list of scale buttons displayed on the screen to submit your guess.
